Meal after meal and day after day cheap recipes can become a real chore. It’s easy to get stuck on the same few meals. Sometimes old favorite recipes get forgotten as people eat the same things. Random meal selection results in that situation. Now that more people are more focused on other things like work, it’s not easy to plan and execute a healthy menu.
When coming up with recipes and a menu schedule prior planning prevents future problems. When a menu is planned in advance the selection becomes more diverse. Sure the food is important, but so is the atmosphere around the meal. Even the same old food can be an adventure if cooked a different way.
Take ground beef for example. Ground beef and wheat with vegetables and tomato sauce (ketchup) is a burger Well, it’s also tacos. Tacos and hamburgers have a lot of the same basic ingredients, but to most people they’re very different foods. One food can make many different recipes and thus meals. Here’s another. We’ll consider chicken with potatoes. Fried chicken and French fries aren’t too healthy. But roasted chicken and potatoes are. More with the same potato and chicken. Try chicken salad with potato chips for lunch. Chicken pot pie. Chicken Teriyaki comes with rice, a starch just like the potatoes. There it is, a lot of variety from only a few basic foods.
Mixing meats can be fun too. Cut up chicken and steak, potatoes and vegetables. Put them on skewers or sticks and grill. Those are delicious kebabs. Steak and lobster is fun for adults and kids. Fish and chips make a good appetizer for a fried turkey, all made in the same deep fryer.
Where can more ideas be found? There’s a television network dedicated to food, which shows a lot of cooking programs. They not only have practical cooking tips, but have web sites with even more information on dinner recipes. A quick Google search on cheap ideas can give a lot of, well, ideas. You’ll never have time to read all the resulting information. There are more cheap recipes out there than the average person can ever eat in an entire lifetime.
